a corona commercial day

i normally don't talk about my day to day (mainly as not to bore the dwindling 5 readers i still have (if i still do)), but today was a doozi. i have 2 kids with disabilities so i try to be more understanding when it comes to rough days, but today was one for the books, or should i use the lame joke, blog. your right i shouldn't. so to start things off today i was starting in a new dept at work with a new manager and new team. so to my surprise when im in the middle of training and get a call from my older kids school. it's non other than the dean of students or what we referred to in my days as the assistant principal. he was calling just to make sure i knew that my kid was now suspended from riding the bus for running around while the bus was in motion, and that because of his behavior at school i would need to come down to the school and sit with him. im sure my response was met with the same surprise as his call to me when i said no. because of the things happening at my work and training i couldn't leave. i told him i would contact my wife and see if she would be able to come down and sit with our child. i called my wife and let her know what was going on and she let me know that she would do no such thing. after letting the dean of students know her of move to not come down cause she was on her way to work he decided he wouldn't be outdone, and suspend our child for 2 days. fast forward to a little later in my morning after my wife picked up our child and was home getting ready to go back to work with our offspring in tow and as she is telling me whats been going on i get another call from a school. this time it's our younger child who apparently is having some trouble as well. the teacher wanted to let me know that she didn't know what to do after this younger kiddo was banging his head on the wall, breaking the pen needed to do work, refusing to do any work, and then if that wasn't enough, dancing around the room and screaming. i requested to speak to this kiddo, who i refused to do so. all i could hear in the background was this child telling the teacher "no, i don't wanna talk to daddy". i let the teacher know to let em know of the repercussions if the day was not turned around. thinking this is it i can now go back and focus on my new job and finish up my training for the day. a little bit later i get yet another call. it's my wife again, and she lets me know that she now has a lunch break for a few hours at work ( a daycare center) because this kiddo in all his brilliance took a bike from outside on the playground and rode it around the hallways at her work. so she was able to get a break till i was able to get off work and come by to get this thorn in our sides, i mean beautiful, wonderful, well behaved child. after that call i just turned my phone off. fast forward to after school for the younger child, and i go to talk to the teacher to see if this one was at least able to turn it around (unlike the older sibling), and to my dismay (not really) they were unable to . they refused to do any work and was being just as stubborn as the mommy anchor, i mean this papa anchor. so now im here writing about this day while they both sit in their perspective time out spots, stripped of their privileges and freedom. all i can think about are those cornona commercials where there is a couple sitting in chairs or hammocks on a deserted island away from everything looking out into the ocean from a beach. i don't drink alcohol, but thinking of these commercials combined with a day like mine, i can start to see why people drink (especially corona). i ask if your one of my faithful readers and have any suggestions that can help me get some serenity, please do. i am in desperate need of some serenity right now.

the wait is over

you read it right my loyal 7 (probably down to just 3-4 now) readers. i am back in 2011. i bet u thought the yankees losing would be the last you'd read from me (and you probably wanted it to be as well), but your wrong. After a small hiatus im back to lead the way in bad blogs for 2011. survived x-mas, few illnesses, and even some weight loss, all to start off the new year. my wife, i mean santa made the bog mistake of getting the nintendo wii (under the guise of it being a gift for the kids) for x-mas. ever since then this evil item has ripped time and energy from both my wife and me playing super mario bros. most of the time we are having to threaten each other with the cops being called (and the chance of being on tv) to get a turn. all the while the kids are maintaining the residence and taking care of the adult responsibilities. i don't want to bore u anymore than i already have (i can't afford to lose anymore readers). so i will end this one, and hope that the next post will be chalked full of wisdom for each and everyone of my readers (all 3 possibly 4 if im lucky). please drop me a note if you have any suggestions for me to write about, cause i am currently at zero. i do ask that math not be on the list, i know no matter i can't make math interesting n matter how hard i try.

update

well a few things have taken place since my last post. the yankees lost their way to the world series this year, and by default my next favorite team became the giants. i watched almost all the games of the world series, and have to say that im very disappointed. for starters the rangers where a beast against the yankees, only to lay down and do next to nothing against the giants. cliff lee who was the talk of the town (besides lincecum) faded into almost nothing status in the series. it was sad cause as bad as i wanted to see the rangers lose for what they did to the yankees, i wanted to see cliff lee pitch like he had against the yankees series. i was hoping to see a 7 game series come down to extra innings. oh well oh well. the one great thing about the series was the giants bull pen. i only knew lincecum, and was blown away more by cain & bumgarner than lincecum. there is always next year for the yanks to redeem themselves (and add cliff lee to their bull pen). as far as other things that have happened, i had a b-day, and like all the others before, just a reminder to me of another year down with nothing to show for it. although i do prefer a year like this last one more so than the one from 2008. that's when i had surgery and my boys where diagnosed as special needs as well as some other fun things i chose to not be reminded of. the suns my b-ball team are showing they may be @ 500 this season. now keep in mind i will be glad if they make 500, and the sad thing is that they where in the conference finals last year. the cardinals are right there just under 500 this season. the reason for the sports talk is that it's broughten the most happiness to me lately. sad but true. friends and fam are excluded from this list cause u guys should already know where u rank on my list (towards the bottom for some). had a house warming party which was awesome. had my bros & there fams as well as my parents and my grandma all over. bbq some burgers & doggs and enjoyed college football while the kids ransacked the house destroying everything in their path. it was great. well i got nothing else now. as u can see nothing of excitement has been going on with me. and for me that's a good thing. seems when things get exciting it's usually not a good thing. i know the election just took place and of course i voted so i can complain about how things continue to be the same, for which i am confident they will continue to be (just being a realist). sorry for the boring post. hopefully i will have more exciting tings next time. adios

the weight is over

to all my 7 readers, i am back (at least for the time being)! i know you've been waiting on bended knee to hear the latest nonsense from me, and i'm sorry to say that this post probably won't be worth the wait, or should i say weight. saying that "life has been a little crazy lately" is nothing short of the understatement of the year for me. the past 2 months have provided more excitement (not in a good way) than i have had in all my life. the unfortunate thing for you the reader is that my wife has already blogged at ad nausea about it so much that i will spare you the details. if your interested in the details go read her blog (nothing brings her more happiness that to look at the bottom of her blog at the "executive desk" to see how many have looked at her blog). the sad thing is that that even with her being with me or the kids, she would still rather be looking at that, and her blog than us. onto what i was going to post about today. the subject of my post today is about a milestone that took place in my life (to show you how sad my life is) about a week ago. i accomplished something that i had failed to do on many occasions prior. i went for a whole year without a soda (2 sips that took place in an emergency situations only). i have substituted soda in my life with more water and juices. the sad thing is that with such an accomplishment, my body figure is probably in the worst shape. i would have thought that giving up something that is so loaded with sugar (very delicious sugar) and has no real health benefit i would have at least dropped a few pounds or lost some of my gut, but to my dismay this hasn't happened. i am now trying to figure out what other alterations are needed in order to lose some of this gut. if any of my 7 readers have ideas beside the usual eat healthier and exercise (although i'm pretty sure that would for do it), please let me know (i'm all ears or should i say eyes as i will more than likely be reading them. it feels good to be back guys.

p.s. action movies

after finally going to sleep last night and, making it through today i realized that there was a couple of things that i forgot to mention while blogging last night in a sleep like state. first thing is why, why, why don't the action stars ever pick up a gun after shooting or killing a bad guy? why? it seems like a no brain er to me to go and grab the gun after killing a bad guy. just common sense. the other thing is why do the bad guys almost always have bigger and better weapons than the good guys. i don't know if it's a way to level the playing field by giving the villains the better looking and bigger weapons. you know the villain is going to lose anyway why give them the better weapons. i always like in predator how all the guys in the troop had incredible looking weapons, and it wasn't as if one of the guys had a sweeter weapon than the next. give both beside great weapons so when they shooting or battling each other it looks really cool. anyway this is just a little post script while the night is a lot younger than last night, and my mind is working at the turtles pace (instead of a snails like pace last night).

action movies

i know that the 7 readers of this blog are as excited as me(maybe even more)for the upcoming action mega flick "the expendables". it's no secret that i love action flicks more than just about any other film genre, and with this film coming out i knew what i needed to blog about.... action films. the past couple weeks action films have consumed my free time (what little i have) re watching these action movies i've seen quite a few times in me life. for me good action movies have no expiration date. so i love to watch them over and over. now with that set up, you know how i feel about action films, now its time for me to let the 7 readers of this brilliant (if i should say so myself) blog to unleash my gripes that i have just about most action movies. the first thing is why does the action star whether it's chuck norris (the master), steven seagal (next in command), arnold schwarzenegger (the fallen star), sylvester stallone (yes rocky was a mistake), jean claude van damme (jcvd), or any other action star throw there gun, and fight the villain with their hands or feet? my thought has always been just shoot them, and get it over with. a little fighting is cool no doubt, but they always over draw the fight scene, and all they have to do is just shoot them. i enjoy the shootouts more anyways. the only movie i can think of off the top of my head is open range where kevin costner (not an action star) shoots the guy in head right after he announces that he was the guy who killed his friend. i wish there were more 1 liners in these films. there is always a few, but i want (no demand) more. who wouldn't want to hear lines like this "Senator Vernon Trent: You can take that to the bank! Mason Storm: I'm gonna take you to the bank, Senator Trent. To the blood bank!"? classic! there needs to be more violence and less adult oriented relations. these are actions movies not chick flicks. leave the lovey dovey to j lo movies, and have these guys (and gals) kick more "watch your mouth". my final complaint that i have with action flicks is why not have these stars keep there shirts on???? without fail there is at least one scene if not more where the star has to take the shirt off for no reason. i know there are ladies out there that love these types of movies (i believe it's the same amount readers as this blog), but it never has anything to do with the movie. an example of this is the great action film predator where as the action stars get deeper into the jungle the more the guys take off the shirts for no reason. anyway it's after 1am and i need sleep (not like action stars) so i'm ending this post, but if the 7 readers of this action packed blog would like to share any thoughts about action movies please do. "i'm all ears" see if you can guess which action that quote came from, its another classic. please no mel gibson's quotes (if you where thinking it) as funny as they are, this is a kid friendly blog. good night.
